Android Engineer
USA (Fully Remote)

Salary: Up to $140,000 (DOE)

A profitable, growing video technology company powering personalized, interactive video experiences across web, mobile, and connected TVs. Their platform enables broadcasters, streaming services, and major consumer brands to build rich, interactive video products — combining commerce, data, and automation — without writing code. They work with category-leading media, sports, and entertainment brands to deliver next-generation direct-to-consumer video experiences.
They're expanding across devices and looking for an Android Engineer who can build flexible, well-architected front ends spanning phone, tablet and TV form factors, and take ownership of technical design on projects of moderate complexity.
Key Responsibilities:
- Architecting, developing and maintaining high-quality Android applications using Kotlin and modern Android frameworks
- Implementing UI/UX designs from Figma to pixel-perfect execution, ensuring smooth and responsive user experiences
- Collaborating cross-functionally with product managers, designers and backend engineers to deliver high-impact features on time
- Building reusable components and SDK modules extensible across multiple Android form factors
- Integrating APIs and real-time data sources, including REST, WebSocket, and gRPC
- Participating in code reviews, CI/CD pipeline setup, and continuous improvement of build and deployment processes
- Troubleshooting, debugging and optimizing performance across a variety of Android devices and OS versions
- Staying current with Android ecosystem trends, architecture patterns (MVVM, MVI, Jetpack Compose), and testing/automation best practices

Ideal Profile:
- 5+ years of professional Android development experience in a production environment
- Deep proficiency in Kotlin, with strong understanding of Android SDK, Jetpack libraries, and material design principles
- Proven experience building and shipping apps to the Google Play Store end-to-end
- Experience developing extensible, data-driven applications integrated with modern backend services
- Strong knowledge of asynchronous programming, coroutines, and reactive patterns
- Solid understanding of testing methodologies, including unit, integration, and UI testing
- Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines (e.g., GitHub Actions, Bitrise, Jenkins)
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with experience working in Agile or cross-functional teams
- Experience building for AndroidTV, FireTV, or other CTV platforms is a bonus
- Exposure to media streaming, video playback, or interactive video applications is a bonus
- Experience with Kotlin Multiplatform (KMP) is a bonus
