The Research Platform team develops the foundational systems researchers depend on every day, spanning distributed computing, workload orchestration, observability, security, and platform tooling.

We Are Seeking: Software Engineer - Research Platform

This role sits at the intersection of distributed systems, platform engineering, and high-performance computing.


You will design and build the services, tooling, and infrastructure that power large-scale research workloads, helping researchers run compute-intensive jobs efficiently, reliably, and securely across a global platform.


Experience working with large-scale distributed systems, internal developer platforms, HPC environments, or other performance-sensitive environments is highly valued.


Key Responsibilities

  • Design, build, and operate distributed services supporting compute workloads and data access
  • Develop platform APIs and tooling that improve researcher productivity
  • Improve the scalability, reliability, and performance of research infrastructure
  • Build solutions for scheduling, resource management, observability, and security
  • Partner with researchers and infrastructure teams to deliver platform capabilities
  • Take ownership of systems from design through production operation


Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience building and operating distributed systems in production
  • Strong programming skills in C++, Java, Rust, Go, or similar systems languages
  • Strong understanding of:
  • Distributed systems

  • Fault tolerance
  • Performance engineering
  • Experience building platforms, services, or infrastructure used by other engineers
  • Strong problem-solving and system design capabilities
