A major UK financial services business is expanding its AI delivery capability and hiring a Senior AI Engineer. The wider MLOps function includes 12–15 engineers, with this role sitting within a small AI delivery team focused on building and productionising AI solutions across the business. Current projects include a RAG-based contact centre assistant, AI-supported complaints handling and extracting fraud signals from network graphs. You'll join a fast-paced environment with significant autonomy across several active AI initiatives.

The Senior AI Engineer will design, build and productionise LLM-powered applications while working across engineering, data science, security and business teams. You'll have end-to-end technical ownership with scope to influence architecture, technical recommendations and build-vs-buy decisions.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, build and productionise LLM and Generative AI applications

• Develop solutions using RAG, conversational AI and AI-driven workflows

• Own technical delivery from architecture through to production deployment

• Integrate AI applications with enterprise systems and data sources

• Make architectural recommendations and evaluate build-vs-buy decisions

• Partner with InfoSec and Data Protection teams on secure AI delivery

• Communicate technical decisions and trade-offs across engineering and business teams

Key Details

Salary range: Up to £95,000 base + 15% annual bonus

Working model: Hybrid, 2–3 days per week in the London office
