Job Description

Senior Network Engineer (Cloud & Enterprise Infrastructure)

Client Overview

Our client is a global leader in food manufacturing and supply chain operations undergoing an ambitious enterprise-wide digital transformation. They are modernizing their infrastructure from the manufacturing plant floor to the cloud, uniting complex physical operations with cutting-edge network technology.

Role Summary

We are seeking a Senior Network Engineer to bridge traditional on-premises networking and modern Azure cloud infrastructure. In this role, you will lead high-impact technical initiatives—including a multi-year Data Center Exodus, SD-WAN optimization, and Infrastructure-as-Code automation—while providing Tier-3 escalation support across global corporate and manufacturing environments.

Main Responsibilities

  • Data Center to Cloud Migration: Serve as hands-on engineering lead moving legacy workloads to Microsoft Azure; design and manage transit routing, ExpressRoute connections, and cloud firewall rules.
  • Complex Infrastructure & SD-WAN: Maintain, optimize, and evolve Cisco SD-WAN, Cisco ACI data center fabric, enterprise routing/switching (BGP, OSPF), and wireless environments across corporate and manufacturing sites.
  • Tier-3 Escalation Support: Act as the senior escalation point for multi-domain network incidents crossing cloud, security, and physical boundaries that MSP partners cannot resolve.
  • Network Automation & SRE: Utilize Terraform, Ansible, and Python to automate network provisioning, streamline routine changes, and implement SRE principles for enhanced resilience.
  • Vendor & Operations Coordination: Build clear engineering work packages for third-party MSPs and oversee operational execution and hypercare.
  • Security & SASE Alignment: Collaborate with Global Security teams to co-design and enforce firewall policies, zero-trust frameworks, and secure access solutions (Zscaler).

Must-Haves

  • Azure Cloud Network Engineering: Hands-on experience designing, deploying, troubleshooting, and securing Azure networks (VNets, Azure Firewalls, ExpressRoute, transit routing).
  • Enterprise Cisco Architecture: Advanced expertise with Cisco SD-WAN, Cisco ACI, enterprise routing/switching (BGP, OSPF), and enterprise wireless networks.
  • Hybrid Connectivity: Proven track record of seamlessly bridging plant-floor/on-premises physical infrastructure with public cloud environments.

Nice-to-Haves

  • Network Automation: Practical experience using Terraform, Ansible, or Python for network automation and state management.
  • Security Frameworks: Familiarity with Zscaler, SASE/SSE architectures, and next-generation firewalls.
  • Operational Maturity: Experience in Jira/Agile sprint environments with a focus on SRE practices and capacity management.

Key Details & Benefits

  • Salary Range: CAD $85,000 – $105,000 per year
  • Work Model: Hybrid (3 days on-site / 2 days remote)
  • Location: Florenceville, NB, Canada (Relocation support provided within Canada; although local candidates within NB are preferred)
  • Position Type: Full-Time, Permanent
