This is a one-year engagement within a strategic, business-critical project, focused on test automation, test execution, defect investigation, and continuous quality improvement.

PLEASE NOTE: Work model: Hybrid – 2 days per week at the office, or fully remote for candidates located more than 100 km away from Bucharest, B2B.

Responsibilities

• Analyse business and technical requirements and understand expected application behaviour.
• Create, maintain, and execute automated tests for APIs, backend services, and applications.
• Run automated test suites and analyse execution results.
• Investigate failed tests across application code, automation scripts, test data, configurations, and environments.
• Document defects with logs, evidence, root-cause analysis, and reproduction steps.
• Support functional, integration, regression, and end-to-end testing.
• Maintain and improve existing automation scripts and frameworks.
• Contribute to test monitoring, quality reporting, and continuous improvement.
• Collaborate with Developers, Business Analysts, Product Owners, Test Engineers, and DevOps teams.
• Use AI tools responsibly for test generation, debugging, analysis, documentation, and productivity improvement.

Tools / Software Knowledge & Competencies

• 1–3 years of experience in software testing, QA, or test automation.
• Good Java knowledge.
• Experience with Selenium, Playwright, Cypress, or REST Assured.
• Understanding of REST APIs, JSON, web services, and Postman.
• Basic SQL and database knowledge.
• Experience with Git and familiarity with CI/CD concepts.
• Knowledge of software testing principles and the defect lifecycle.
• Familiarity with Jira, Zephyr, Xray, or similar tools.
• Analytical, troubleshooting, and log-analysis skills.
• Familiarity with JUnit, TestNG, Jenkins, Maven, or Gradle is an advantage.
• Exposure to microservices, Spring Boot, Docker, Kubernetes, cloud platforms, JMeter, Gatling, Kafka, JMS, or RabbitMQ is a plus.
• Banking, payments, regulated-environment experience, or ISTQB certification is advantageous.
