Senior Member of Technical Staff - AI Startup

I'm working with a YC-backed AI startup that's tackling one of the biggest operational challenges in financial services.

They're building AI agents that automate complex compliance investigations for banks and fintechs, replacing hours of manual work with intelligent, explainable decision-making. Following strong early traction, they're looking to hire a Senior Member of Technical Staff to join the founding team.

This isn't a role where you'll inherit legacy systems or become one engineer in a team of hundreds.

You'll work directly with the founders, own major technical decisions, help shape the engineering culture, and build AI-native products from the ground up. As the company grows, you'll have the opportunity to transition into an Engineering Manager while remaining deeply involved in the technical direction of the business.

They're looking for someone who:

• Has 5+ years of software engineering experience
• Is an exceptional Python engineer with modern full stack experience
• Has previously been a Founder, CTO, Engineering Manager or other senior technical leader
• Has experience building AI products, agents or automation platforms in production
• Enjoys solving difficult technical problems and taking ownership from day one

Details:

• San Francisco (on-site)
• $200,000 to $300,000 base
• Meaningful equity
